Scripture is replete with commands to care for those who are poor and needy. In fact, James 2:14-17 points to acts of service to those in need as a sign that their faith is real!
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:14-17)
So, if you are looking for a way to get involved and meet the needs of the poor and needy in our community, we invite you to join us on the 4th Saturday of the month for our monthly visit to the shelter. We leave the church parking lot at 5:30 and typically return around 7:30.
The sign-up sheet is on the desk in Fellowship Hall and the monetary donation boxes are in the front entry hall, as well as the Fellowship Hall. We would love to have you involved with this ministry to those in need in the North Myrtle Beach community.
Contact Patti Simon (860) 303-4508 if you have any additional questions or to get involved today!
